I told you! The 2018 German Grand Prix Was Really Interesting.

Lewis Hamilton made a history at the 2018 German Grand Prix. Lewis had a problem with “a loss of hydraulic pressure from failed power steering” and this stopped him after the Q1. Although all circumstances Lewis won the 2018 German Grand Prix of Formula 1.

The Race Day for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport began with Position 14 for Lewis Hamilton and Position 2 for Valtteri Bottas. Lewis entered the point list in a few laps while Valtteri was trying to fight for the P1.



Later in the 2018 German Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel on P1 crashed and Safety Car was deployed. Bottas was slowed in the pit due to prepared Soft instead of UltraSoft tires. Lewis had misunderstanding about entering the box, he went to enter but at the last minute Hamilton decided to skip that box. Lewis saw that Kimi Raikkonen entered the pit line and skipping the box Lewis leaded the German GP behind the Safety Car.

Lap 58 was significant one for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Team. Both drivers were head to head fighting for the first place. Hamilton first, Bottas attacked but Lewis defeated himself very well. After that James called Valtteri to keep his position leaving the P1 for Hamilton.

It was a team’s play. Lewis decided to skip the box overtaking Kimi and thus leading the GP of Germany. After that it was a must for Valtteri Bottas to attack his teammate but he couldn’t. It was on Lap 58 and any maneuvers in the end of the race could cost a lot for the team on slippery race track. That’s why Mercedes gave instructions to Bottas to keep the 2nd place. Thus Lewis Hamilton won the 2018 German Grand Prix of Formula 1.



Lewis Hamilton also recorded fasted lap 1:15.545 in Lap 66 at the 2018 German GP and he had one box stop in Lap 42 changing the Soft with UltraSoft tires. Valtteri Bottas recorded his best time in the race 1:15.721 in Lap 65. Bottas had two pit stops changing the UltraSoft with Soft in Lap 28 and later again with UltraSoft tires on lap 53.

Lewis Hamilton achieved his 66th career victory at the 2018 German Grand Prix equaling Michael Schumacher’s record for most F1 wins at the race. Valtteri kept the starting P2 and thus he helped the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Team to achieve 1-2 final.

Lewis leads Drivers’ Championship with 188 points he’s 17 points in front of Vettel with 171 points. Valtteri has 122 points and he is on P4.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport ensures the lead in the Constructors’ Championship with 310 leading the Ferrari (302) by 8 points. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, accepted the Constructors’ trophy on behalf of the team.

The 2018 German Grand Prix marks the 80th won in Formula 1 for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport, the 60th fastest lap for the team and the 125th podium in the series for Lewis – 92 years after the first German Grand Prix was won by Mercedes in 1926.
