All engines for the BMW X7 have an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. It has a wider gear ratio and new electronic control. This gearbox reduces the engine speed especially in higher gears and thus it helps to increase the overall efficiency. The 8-speed Steptronic transmission is fitted with a new generation of torsion dampers to limit rotational irregularities in the powertrain. Thus the BMW X7 has to be with enhanced ride comfort and smoother gear changes. The converter slip of the gearbox is also reduced which has to add more boost and the optimized hydraulic control has to give you more sporty shifting.
