Group PSA Closes Plants Due to COVID-19
Group
PSA is another Europen automotive producer that closes its production
lines in Europe due to COVID-19. Group PSA manages several brands like Peugeot, Citroёn, Opel, Vauxhall, and the respective sport and performance departments. The
French-based company is the second one that closes its production lines today as the Fiat Chrysler Group N.V. (FCA Group) also suspended its production in the EU this morning.
The
Chairman of the Executive Board with the members of the crisis unit of Group PSA
had taken a decision to stop production because of supply disruptions from
major suppliers and also of decline in the automobile markets.
It’s
a temporary shut down until March 27, 2020. The brake will affect the following
production lines according to the schedule:

(Germany), Ellesmere Port (United Kingdom), Gliwice (Poland);

19: Luton (United Kingdom), Trnava (Slovakia).

The closure of the mechanical sites will be adjusted accordingly.
The site management teams will implement the site closure procedures locally, which will be done in coordination with the social partners.
Groupe PSA remind that until then, compliance with the barrier measures, going beyond the recommendations of the health authorities on the sites, are the best protection to prevent the spread of the virus.
