The Honda E | DRO4CARS
Why the Honda e Instead of Honda E?!
I’m
struggling with the small e. It has to be capitalized E. It’s about
the Honda E that is a small car in the B-segment but I feel its energy, its
power which says to me “The producer is
wrong!!! I have to be a big E”. In respect of my emotions and feelings, I
just change the whole model name in the automotive industry. The Honda E! Red-dot
Award-winging Honda E!

The
Honda E is part of the Honda E: TECHNOLOGY that aims to electrify the whole European Honda range. This process has
been started with the Honda Jazz Hybrid and now it’s time to welcome the Honda’s
first all-electric model Honda E.
The
Honda E body made with high-strength materials that reduce weight and improve
ride comfort. The lightweight materials are used for the chassis that is
designed to provide the ideal platform from which to fine-tune suspension and
steering settings. On the sides of the chassis, there are three protective ribs
that protect the battery from a side-impact and another safety feature is the pop-up
hood to improve pedestrian protection.
This
body made by high-strength and lightweight materials and the E is powered by Honda
electric powertrain technologies. The electric motor provides up to 154 hp (113
kW) and the max torque is 315 Nm (232.33 lb.ft). This is the most powerful
version, available on Advance grade (equipment level). Using this unit you can
run the E from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 8.3 seconds.
The
Honda E also offers a less powerful version with 136 hp (100 kW) similar to the
engine available for the Peugeot e-206 and
Opel Corsa-e. The entry-level Honda E is able to run to 100 km/h (60 mph)
in 9 seconds.
The
Honda E uses a 35.5 kWh Lithium-ion high-capacity battery. The range of the
Honda E is around 220 km (136.7 mi) (16-inch wheels). If you have the entry-level Honda E the
will be around 222 km (137.9 mi) and if your choice is the Advance equipment
level that comes with 17-inch wheels and the range is about 210 km (130.5 mi). All
ranges are given due to WLTP.

As
any other electric vehicle Honda e comes with a fast-charger CCS2 DC rapid charger that provides up 80% of the range in 30 minutes. Another option for recharging the Honda E is
with Type 2 AC connection that charges to full in 4.1 hrs, with a 7.4 kW
supply.
The Honda E price in Germany is €33,850 (app. 36,682.74 USD); the Honda E Advance grade
is €36,850 (app. 39,933.79 USD).
