A Trip on Nissan Skyline C110 (1972-1977)

 One day in the summer, when I was going out for a walk, I saw this Skyline. Some people had taken a journey from Kuwait to England through Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, The Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France. I really like such type of trip.
 Let’s talk about the car.   This is a Nissan Skyline C110 in production between 1972 and 1977. As you can see on the pictures there are two plates on the front grill, one of them shows 2000GT and the other -  240K GT. There are two types of engines for the 2000GT model:
 1. 2000GT-X: 2.0L Straight 6-cylinders with 109 or 130 hp @ 5600 rpm (172 Nm) - the information about this engine is too short and confusing;
 2. 2000GT-R: 2.0L Straight 6-cylinders with 160 hp @ 7000 rpm (180 Nm).
 At that time Nissan used the Datsun brand to export models. The 240K GT is the same model which was produced under the brand of Datsun. The engine is 2.4L straight 6-cylinder with 130 hp, with a single carb and 150 hp, with twin side SU-carbs (named after Skinners Union, the company which produces them). This engine was in production for 14 years and it’s assembled on other cars like: Datsun 240Z, Nissan Cedric, Nissan Skyline C210, and Nissan Laurel. This model is with rear-wheel drive.
 Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet the owner to take more information about the car. I got interested in it and this is the whole information I could find.
 The body styles of the car are coupe, sedan and station wagon (estate). Dimensions:  wheelbase: 2,610 mm (approx. 102.8 in); length 4,460 mm (175.6 in); width: 1,625 mm (64 in); Height: 1,395 mm (54.9 in).

 The first Skyline was a model of Prince Motor Company introduced in April 1957 as ALSID-1. That was a luxury car with 1.5L engine produced 60 hp @ 4400 rpm. After few company merges Prince Motor Company became under the control of the Nissan brand. The Nissan Motor Company kept the name “Skyline” and continues producing cars with this name.

 Inspired by this man or these people, who did this type of trip, I want to make a point. Every trip by car is a wonderful experience. If there is a producer who wants to give me a car for a long distance, I’ll make a World Trip. Just contact me!
 That’s all for this week. I’ll see you around next Sunday. Bye.
