Some kind of a project on 1993 BMW 850i
The BMW 8 Series E31 model is a legendary car.
Nowadays there are so few cars in the world that the owners are waving at each
other. The grand tourer BMW 8 Series from 1990 to 1999 is a car that every
enthusiast wants to have, at least for a ride. The buyers back in the 90s had
the option to choose from either a V8 engine that goes with the models BMW 840Ci
or a V12 engine that goes on BMW 850i, BMW 850Ci and BMW 850CSi.

A Different 1993 BMW 850i
I found out some project that includes some
part of a 1993 BMW 850Ci. Well, the car body doesn’t look at all of a BMW. I’m also
struggling to understand from which car the original car body comes. It looks
like a Ford Probe but that model just like the original BMW 8 Series E31 has pop-up
a.k.a hidden headlamps. Then it could be some Jaguar but for sure that body
doesn’t like an original BMW 850i.

From the published pictures in the selling ad,
we see a V12 engine, the interior of the original BMW 850i and that’s pretty much
everything from the original model. There is an aftermarket radio with two 400
kW subwoofers. Instead of rear seats, there are speakers.

The rear end of the car looks strange. The
taillights look like these on a BMW 3 Series E36. The exhaust pipes are changed
too. The door handles are also from some other car or maybe from a closet.

If we pay attention to the rear frame of that car called BMW 850i we could think that this car looks like an original BMW 8 Series because of the bottom angle of the window.
What do We Know About This So-Called BMW 850i (850Ci)?
This project car BMW 850i is located in
Germany. The first registration is in March 1993. There couldn’t be another engine
other than petrol ones. The published power of the car is 299 hp. It’s written
that it has an automatic gearbox but inside the car, there are three pedals.
Last and the most important thing is that this car has a TÜV but without the steering wheel and the black taillights. It’s also written
that this car goes and stops.

Something about the German TÜV certificate
The TÜV certificate is the German techno
inspection that gives roadworthy permission for the vehicles. It’s a must that
your car has a TÜV certificate. Even if you do some projects and you are willing to use
some tuning spare parts these parts also have to be TÜV certificated. If
not – the car is not passing the test.

The owner of this car-like BMW 850Ci is published that it has alloy
rims, xenon / LED, air conditioner, Radio, Bluethooth®, Cruise Control, and
ABS. Moreover, the owner had written that this project is made by the previous
owner.

Having such a BMW 8 Series E31 is a real dream
for many of us even if someone gets the brand new G15. Although, when someone wants
to spend some money on it – that car should look just as brand new. I know that
there would be some collectors that don’t drive such beauties but every car
wants to be driven. This one is something really strange for me and spending
about 12,999 EURO / ap. 15,122 USD does not make sense to me. Enjoy the
gallery. Leave a comment, share it with friends.
