If
you look around the new line of Ford models you will see a thing that is
not like Ford one. It is the front grill. I was wondering where I have seen
this part of the car. A minute later I said: Aston Martin! Ok, but what is the connection
between Ford and Aston Martin. The answer is Ford Motor Company was the owner of
Aston Martin from 1989 to 2007. Nowadays Ford owns an 8% share of the British carmaker. This is the reason why the front grills are similar or correctly –
equal.
Now,
you can find a front grill for your Aston Martin in every Ford dealer cheaply.

The Design of the 2014 Ford Fiesta
The
new Ford Fiesta has classical-hatch-design. With this front grill, Fiesta looks
like the mouth of a carp. The fog lights could be compared with the gills of the fish.
When I turn off my comparison-imagination mode then the fog lights and the front grill
with these chrome surroundings give the car a very modern and stylish
outlook. The turn signals are integrated into the headlights which have beautiful
shapes and used LED technology.

The six-generation Ford Fiesta Side outlook
On
the side look, the headlights take almost 50% from the front fender. The front
fender has an oval edge which has to express it. The design of the rear fender
is similar but the line isn’t so huge. There is a line that starts from the
front fender pass through the front door, underlines the handle, continues through
the rear door, and finishes on the rear fender. This line was made only to connect
the handles of the doors. If there isn’t a line we’ll see that the handles
aren’t at the same level and the side view of the Ford Fiesta will look a little
bit strange. From the side view, you can see a large part of the tail lights instead
as like you stay behind the car. The best part of the side view is the small
spoiler on the back door. It gives to the Fiesta a complete outlook.

The
most obvious things on the side view are the rims. You can see the rims and the
size of the tyres in the table below. There’s a list of the different options
which are available in the different markets.

The
taillights are placed in the upper position for best visibility from the backside
view. Even though the huge part of tail lights is visible from the side view.
There‘s a chrome line that underlines the blue Ford oval on the 5th
door. There are a lot of lines on the backside view and they look stylish on the 2014 Ford Fiesta.

The Colors of the six-gen Ford Fiesta
The 2014 Ford

- · (standard) Frozen White, Race Red, and Blazer Blue;
- · (metallic) Moondust Silver, Hot Mustard, Fashionista, Midnight Sky, Nautical Blue, Copper Pulse, Panther Black;
- · (special metallic) Candy Blue, Hot Magenta.
In
addition, the roof could be in different colors but this option is available in
some countries like Germany and France. The tested car has a Candy Blue color and
6J 195/50/R15 5-double spoke rims, shown in the pictures.
While
we talking about the exterior here are the dimensions:

3969 mm / 3982 mm (for Sport, Zetec S, ST – names of the equipment level,

Wide: 1978 mm/
77.87 in
High: 1495
mm/ 58.86 in
While
I made a research about the Ford Fiesta I found that the dimensions in Mexico,
USA are a little bit different:
Length:
4056 mm (+87 mm)/ 159.69 in (+3.43 in)
Wide:
1978 mm (-2 mm)/ 77.8 in (-0.07 in)

The 2014 Ford Fiesta trunk | Image: Dro4Cars |
Ok,
there’s enough space for luggage. This trunk isn’t only for shopping because
you can carry a big suitcase or two suitcases middle size. The trunk volume is 290
liters (10.24 cu. ft.) for the 5-seat version and 974 (34.4 cu. ft.) liters for the 2-seat version. The USA version volume is 14.9 cu. ft. for hatchback and 10.1
cu. ft. for the ST model. If you have to transport big and large luggage you can
fall down the backseat in the ratio of 60:40 and thus the trunk volume will increase.
Backseats,
there is enough space for two short guys like me but for the third person, it
will be narrow. This is normal for this type of city car which original version is a two-door hatch.

Let have a
sit behind the steering wheel which
is very ergonomic and comfortable.. The instrumental cluster has a classical view with two analog displays for the speeds of the engine and your
current speed. Of course, the information for rpm and the speedometer isn’t analog, only the information is shown in this way.

The 2014 Ford Fiesta - dashboard | Image: Dro4Cars |
We’re
two people while we did the test drive of the car and the space is enough. The
used materials for the dashboard don’t look cheap. Every lever and button is
very close to the steering wheel and this creates the usage very easy. It isn’t
necessary to lose time to find where the radio volume control is or the fan
speed control.
The 2008-2019 Ford Fiesta Middle Console
Here
is the last part of the interior. The middle console is more than ergonomic and
simple to use. Even more, it is beautiful. The radio control buttons are placed
in V-shape and it’s so elementary to swap between the Radio, CD player, and AUX connection
or to use your phone. On the right side of this V-shape are placed the buttons
for your phone. You can use it while driving via Bluetooth. The tested car
doesn’t have a navigation system but you can order it as additional equipment. In the middle of this ‘V’ is the joystick with
which you manage the board computer of the car. The climate control buttons are separated from the other instruments of the car. This is good because you
cannot confuse the buttons.

If
you want to express your personality there are optional packets. They also depend
on the market. The Ford Fiesta offers 15 different trims for the Bulgarian market.
They are separated between the different equipment levels. Some of them are
from additional equipment, with additional costs.
The 2014 Ford Fiesta - steering wheel side view | Image: Dro4Cars |
The Ford
Fiesta is a small car but the equipment which it offers is very good and there
are a lot of options. Although that Fiesta is a small car this Ford is very
comfortable for driving. The feeling is like you drive a Ford Mondeo a.k.a. Ford Fusion.

The
tested cars were equipped with 1.0 EcoBoost®, 3-cylinders, 123 hp turbo petrol
engine with a Start&Stop system (2012 and 2013 International engine of the
year). This engine at 1500 rpm works with some vibrations. When we ride on the
highway with 140 km/h (87 miles/h; that is the speed limit in Bulgaria), Fiesta is a little bit noisy. Driving at 140 km/h speed there aren’t vibrations inside the 2013 Ford Fiesta.
All Engines for the 2014 Ford Fiesta
Here
is a table with different engines in some countries. Depending on the market some
engines aren’t available in some countries. It applies to the level of equipment as
well.

What is PowerShift® available for the 2008-2019 Ford Fiesta?
It’s
a 6-speed automatic transmission that uses a dual-clutch. The first clutch
manages 1-3-5 gears and the other clutch 2-4-6-Revers. When the first clutch is
engaged the other one is disengaged. If you are riding on the first gear the
second is already prepared for the shift. The engine reaches the rpm, transmission
shifts on the second gear, and the third gear is prepared for the next shift.
PowerShift®
offers and manual shifting via buttons on the gear stick. Used the plus (+)
button for up and the minus (-) button for down-shifting. Ford says that
using this transmission you can save 10% of used fuel.
We
aren’t having tested this transmission yet. When we have a personal opinion
from it we’ll share with you our experience.

Summarize and Opinions of the 2008-2019 Ford Fiesta
The
tested 2014 Ford Fiesta has a 1.0 EcoBoost petrol engine that produces 123 hp. This engine work unbalanced
at 1500 rpm which means I felt vibrations at 140 km/h (87 mph, the limit of
Bulgarian highway) the car is noisy but at this speed, there aren’t vibrations. The
feel was like I drive a Ford like Fusion (Mondeo).
