BMW Motorrad Presents Laser Light For The BMW K 1600 GTL
At
the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on 6-9 January 2016 BMW Motorrad
presents laser headlight for the BMW K 1600 GTL.

The
BMW Motorrad tested new headlights on the BMW K 1600 GTL. For the very first
time laser headlights was tested for bikes. The laser lights are already
available for BMW 7-Series and BMW i8.

With
the new light technology the high-beam will be increased up to 600 meters which
is double than the conventional headlights. Thus the illumination of the road
becomes better and it increases the safety in night-time riding. The laser
light technology has long service life because of its compact, robust and
maintenance-free construction.

The
laser light technology is too cost-intensive for using in motorcycles for now.
The expectations are that the price will be decreased because of wide use of
the automotive industry. That’s the reason why we have to wait. I’m sure that
the technology won’t be available soon but my hope is that we won’t wait so
long.
