BMW Group U.S. Sales Report May 2018
In
May 2018, BMW Group U.S. marks an increase of 3.4%. Separated by brands, BMW
sales grow up 3.3% and MINI brand complete the month +4% more sales.

The
total sales of BMW Group in the U.S. are 30,888 vehicles versus 29,881 vehicles
sold in May 2017. BMW Group marks an increase of 3.3% on year-to-date basis in
comparison with the first five months in 2017.

outlook for the second half of the year is positive,” said Bernhard Kuhnt,
President and CEO, BMW of North America. “Our X model Sports Activity Vehicles
continue their steady increase as availability improves and the BMW 5 Series is
proof there’s strong demand for a great sedan, especially the electrified
version which is now approaching 20% of 5 Series sales.”

BMW
sold 26,662 units in May 2018 versus 25,818 units sold in May 2017. It
represents an increase of 3.3%. Year-to-date, BMW is up 3.2% on sales of 123,979
vehicles in comparison with 120,124 units sold in the first five months of
2017. BMW’s Sport Activity Vehicles accounted for 52% of BMW brand sales in May
2018. The BMW X2, BMW X3 and the BMW X5 have strong sales performance in the
U.S.

MINI
USA reported 4,226 vehicles sold in May 2018. This is an increase of 4% head-to-head
May 2017 when MINI complete the month with 4,063 sales. The MINI Countryman
continued its strong performance rising 29.4% in comparison with May 2017. The Countryman
also made an increase of 61.9% on year-to-date basis compared to the first five
months of 2017.

The
total BMW Group Electrified Vehicles Sales in the U.S. of both electric and
plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are 2,046 in May 2018. The growth is 26.9% from
the 1,612 units sold in May last year. BMW Group electrified vehicles accounted
for 6.6 percent of U.S. sales in May 2018.
BMW
Group electrified models in the U.S. are: the
BMW i3, BMW i8, BMW 330e, BMW 530e, BMW 740e, BMW X5 xDrive 40e and the MINI
Countryman plug-in-hybrid electric vehicle.

Certified Pre-Owned sold 12,145 vehicles in May 2018, which is an increase of
14.5% in comparison with May 2017. BMW marks the best May 2018 in the BMW
Pre-Owned history with total sales of 23,147 units sold.

MINI
Certified Pre-Owned sales are 1,381 vehicles in May 2018, which is an increase
of 36.5% compared with May 2017. With an increase of 11.8% (vs. May 2017) and
total sales of 3,009 units, MINI Pre-Owned closed May 2018.
