The Ferrari BR20 – One-Off Model | DRO4CARS

The Ferrari BR20 is a one-off model specially created for the client’s will. The Ferrari BR20 is a two-seater model based on the Ferrari GTC4Lusso. The BR20 has a V12 engine and the exterior is inspired by the Ferrari models from the 50s and 60s. The interior is also changed.

About the One-Off Cars

One of the best points in the automotive world is when a car is made by bespoke just like the Ferrari BR20. It’s not an expression of the wealthiest but it’s an expression of knowing what you want; what you exactly want and you are ready for it. Thanks to such people and such Ferrari customers today we can talk about the BR20.

The Inspiration of the Ferrari BR20 Comes From...

The Ferrari BR20 is based on the Ferrari GTC4Lusso platform. The BR20 exterior is inspired by the coupe models from the 1950s and 60s and combines elegance, sportiness, and styling themes that are typical for some of the most popular 12-cylinder models in Ferrari’s history as the Ferrari 410 SA and the Ferrari 500 Superfast.

The Fron Desing of the Ferrari BR20

The front grille of the Ferrari BR20 with its horizontal slats gives a sense of three-dimensionality. Just like the BR20, the front girlie is also a one-off. Moreover, the headlights are different compared to the Ferrari GT4Lusso model. The headlights and are placed in a lower position and the Daytime Running Lights (DRL) are slimmer on the BR20. Thus the front bonnet looks longer which also completes the overall front design with all the aerodynamic features on it.

All the smooth lines of the exterior design make an impression and enhance the elegance of the Ferrari BR20. Instead of using fenders which is a common term in car design here, we have arches that are running lengthwise from A-pillar to the rear spoiler. Both front and rear arches have aerodynamic openings. Thus the air goes nicely behind the front wheels, and very gentle slides the doors and goes to the rear wheels where other openings lead the air under the spoiler. This “flying buttress” design theme of Ferrari connects the BR20 with the Ferrari GT traditions and the sports cars as the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The 20” wheels are with a tone-on-tone diamond finish. And guess what? The wheels are specially created for the Ferrari BR20. When the car is one-off, everything else is one-off.

At the back impression make the dual taillights that live in a harmony with the dual tailpipes. The exhaust pipes are set in an aerodynamic diffuser placed lower under the body. The exhaust system of the Ferrari BR20 has active flaps and the dual round exhaust tips are also specially designed for this one-off model.

The Ferrari BR20 has an ultra-sleek fastback line and this is achieved with an interior change - the rear seats from the original Ferrari GTC4Lusso are removed. The proportions of the car are underlined by the rear overhang design and thus the BR20 is 3 inches longer compared to the GTC4Lusso. The innovative proportions of the exterior are made thanks to radical modification of the cabin volume.

The Interior of the Ferrari BR20

Inside the Ferrari BR20, there are two shades of brown leather and carbon-fiber elements.  The seats are in dark brown Heritage Testa di Moro leather with silver cross-stitching which corresponds with the exterior Silver color of the BR20.  The interior is just like an estate or hatchback model where the two front seats and the luggage compartment are living under one roof. The interior details are made of oak and carbon-fiber materials.

The Engine For The Ferrari BR20

The information about the engine is shorted. So, based on the facts we already know and bearing some classic design lines of 12-cylinder models from the 50s and 60s I can suggest that under the bonnet of the BR20 there is a V12 engine. Moreover, this one-off Ferrari BR20 is based on the Ferrari GTC4Lusso model so probably the BR20 uses the 6.3L V12 engine with 681 hp @ 8,000 rpm with max torque of 514 lb. ft / 697 Nm @ 5,750 rpm.

The Ferrari BR20 is created by the will of a long-lasting client who also had participated deeply in every step of making the car. The BR20 kept its core design themes that a benchmark for Ferrari and at the same time it represents inspiration.

Ferrari Special Projects

Ferrari has Special Projects program which goal is to create unique Ferraris – so-called One-Offs. These special one-off models provide exclusive design according to the clients’ requirements who are willing to have a one-of-a-kind Ferrari model. The client puts the idea on the table and the designers from Ferrari’s Styling Centre begin to work on that special project. The process is followed by defining the car’s proportions and forms, detailed design blueprints, and a styling buck before the manufacturing process. The One-Offs models are in the production stage for more than one year, from the idea to the completed production of the car, as the client follows every step of the production process with all confirmation and verification phases. Do you have a dream about Ferrari, you can have it!

Ferrari GTC4Lusso Rear View - it's a so-called shooting brake model, something between hatchback, coupe and touring. For me this is the most practical model as we keep in mind that the very first model is the Ferrari FF - AWD and 2+2 seats. | Image: Ferrari

Inside the Ferrari GTC4Lusso's Luggage Compartment two large, two small and a hand bag can be fit perfectly.
