The New Audi Q7 with New 'Ultra' Engine

The sale of the new Audi Q7 will begin next month for the European market. The base price for Germany will be 58,000€.

The Audi Q7 new ‘ultra’ 3.0 TDI engine produces 218 hp (160 kW) and the torque is 500 Nm (368.8 lb-ft) between 1,250 to 3,000 rpm. The goal of this engine was to reduce the fuel consumption and they did it. This 3.0 ‘ultra’ TDI uses only 5.5L/100km (42.8 US mpg) in combined cycle. The engine produces 144 grams/km (231.7 grams/mi) CO2. These results are with 28% less than the previous model. The new Audi Q7 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) for 7.1 seconds. The top speed is 216 km/h (134.2 mph).

Audi also has other two ‘ultra’ engines which were launched in the middle of June. There are the 3.0 TFSI with 333 hp (245 kW) and the 3.0 TDI with 272 hp (200 kW).

The differences between 3.0 TDI 218 hp (160 kW) and 3.0 TDI with 272 hp (200 kW) are in engine management, in particular, need-based adjustments were made to the water pump, oil cooler and combustion process.
