I would like to compare both models Aprilia SR 50 and Aprilia SR Motard 50. On first look is obvious that the headlights are different but the main differences are in the engines. The engine capacity is 49 ccm and the bore is 40 mm (1.57 in). Here is the first difference the SR50 R model has 39.3 mm (1.54 in) stroke and the stroke of the SR Motard 50 is 39 mm (1.535 in).

The compression ratio is also different 12.1:1 for the SR50 R model and 10.3:1 for SR Motard 50. The Aprilia SR 50R has 3.7 hp @ 6500 rpm versus Aprilia SR Motard 50 has 5.3 hp @ 8500 rpm. The first scooter has liquid-cooled engine and the second has forced air cooling system.

The SR 50R’s engine has separate lubrication system with mechanical oil pump. The lubrication oil of the Aprilia SR Motard 50’s is injected into the cylinder.

Both scooters have automatic CVT transmission. They also have automatic centrifugal dry clutch.

The differences continue with the tyres. The Aprilia SR 50R has front and rear tubeless tyres 130/60 13”. The SR Motorad 50 model also has front and rear tubeless tyres but the size is 120/70 14”.

These scooters have 2 kg (4.41 lbs) difference. The Aprilia SR 50R has 103 kg (227.1 lbs) dry weight and the Motorad 50’s dry weight is 101 kg (222.67).

It’s strange but both scooters have equal fuel tank capacity but the reserves are different. The Aprilia SR 50 R has 1.2 liters (0.32 us liquid gal) reserve and the Aprilia SR Motorad 50 has 2 liters (0.53 us liquid gal) reserve. The volume of the reserve is included to the 7 liters (1.85 us liquid gal) tank capacity.

Here you can see the dimensions of the Aprilia SR 50R and the Aprilia SR Motard 50.
