The Peugeot Traveller has new 7” capacitive
touch-screen in addition to the multimedia system. To operate the multimedia
system you can use your finger or voice. The Voice recognition provides
additional security in particular for using the Navigation, Telephone and Media

the address in the Navigation can be made while you are driving with your voice.

Using the Peugeot Traveller for long trip,
it will send you a message “Think to take a break” when you are driving with
speed above 65 km/h (80 mph) after two hours of uninterrupted driving. This
system is called Driving Time Warning System and it’s a standard equipment of
the Traveller.
As like the other cars the Traveller also
has Blind Spot Monitoring. It will warn you when there is a vehicle in right or
left-hand lane in your blind spot.

The VisioPark1 is a system which offers
rear radar parking assistance with a camera. It provides 180 degree view of the
rear zone of the Traveller and its environment. When you are on reversing gear
the rear view camera is automatically switched on. The rearview camera has guide
lines that rotate with the steering wheel.
Grip Control is other function which is
available in Peugeot Traveller. This is traction control system, patented by
PSA Peugeot Citroën Group. It extends the usability of the Traveller on roads
or tracks with low levels of traction. This French MPV has a switch which gives
you to choose different modes: Snow, Off-Road, Sand and ESP Off. These modes
can help you when you driving in these or similar road and off-road conditions.
The Peugeot Traveller has safety systems
which also could be find and in other vehicles. The Traveller has
multi-function camera located at the top of the windscreen. This multi-function
camera can recognizes speed limit signs and alerts the driver as showing the
speed limit on the instrumental cluster. This system is called Road Sign and
Speed Limit Recommendation. When it detects a speed limit sign, the system will
offer you to change your speed to the limit. You have to make only 2 presses to
confirm the suggestion.

The Driver Attention Alert gives you visual
and audible alert for more attention at the road. The system measures the
Traveller’s position on the road via the camera and the steering-wheel angle
sensor.
The
Lane Departure Warning System, LDWS for short, if you are going to departure
the lane without activating the turn light, this system will be alert you by
visual and audible feedback on the instrumental panel.
The
Automatic Main Beam Switching is a system which automatically switches the headlights
from main beam to dipped beam and also returns back to the main beam at night.
The
Drive Assist Pack is available as an option and has three systems of equipment
in addition to the Visibility Pack. They are the Active Cruse Control, the
Distance Alert and Safety Brake. The Drive Assist Pack also uses the radar at
the front of the Peugeot Traveller and/or the multi-function camera at the top
of the windscreen.
The
Active Cruse Control is a cruise control and speed limiter system. It can
regulate the distance from the vehicle in front of your Peugeot Traveller. The
Active Cruise Control automatically controls the Traveller speed. But if there
is deceleration of 20 km/h and the space isn’t enough for keeping the set
speed, the system will gives the control back to you.
The
Distance Alert warns you in case of a collision. This system also will warn you
with visual and audible warning just before the Active Safety Brake to be
activated.

The
Active Safety Brake is an automatic emergency braking system. It works using
the camera and radar. In case that you don’t braking or the brake effort is not
enough, the system applies maximum braking. The Active Safety Brake helps you
to avoid the impact up to 30 km/h or it will reduce the consequences whatever
the vehicle’s speed is.
Actually,
the Active Safety Braking is a weakness of the Peugeot Traveller in comparison with
the top premium sedans. They could stop automatically. However, these systems
have to help you in driving and the responsible is laid on your shoulders. So,
do not forget what you have to do behind the steering-wheel.

The
Peugeot Traveller has opening rear window which makes the loading of the trunk
ease. It very helpful function, especially when the parking space in not enough
to open the tailgate. The opening rear window is available as standard on
Active and Allure level of equipment.
According to the previous post I have to say that the Peugeot Traveller’s
main disadvantages are its systems which aren’t better than the premium business
cars. Some French systems are weak in comparison to the German one. Anyway, I
think that the Peugeot Traveller could be reasonable competitor not only in its
segment.
