Honda and Acura Mark 3rd Annual Sales on a Roll / U.S. Edition
American
Honda Motor Co., Inc. released its annual sales report. The producer claims that
both Honda and Acura mark third consecutive all-time annual sales
record on sales of 1,641,429 units sold in 2017. American Honda Motor marks
0.2% increase over its 2016 year record.

American
Honda Motor (AHM) has sold 840,450 light trucks in 2017 which is 3.3% gain. In
December 2017, AHM was sold 86,740 light trucks which is rising 1.4%. The Honda
Division has 1,486,827 on total vehicle sales gaining 0.7%. Honda trucks mark
rising 3.4% on December sales of 75,856 units and plus 4.1% on 2017 sales of
734,269 units. Acura Division sales declined with 12.2% in December and 4.2% on
2017. Acura has total sales of 15,062 units for December and 154,602 for 2017.
The
Honda CR-V is best-selling model for 2017. The CR-V has total sales of 377,895 units
in 2017 and 36,983 units for December. The Honda CR-V is model built at three
plants in North America.
The
Honda HR-V also set a new annual record with increase of 14.6% versus 2016 and
total sales of 94,034 units.
The
newly dedicating a production line in Honda's Alabama to Pilot model in October
helped the three-row SUV to December sales of 18,602, a jump of 54.1%.
The
Honda Civic marks its record with 31,406 units sold in December. The total
sales of Civic for 2017 are 377,268 units and it wins a new record for all-time
annual sales.
The
Honda Accord has 322,655 sales in 2017 which is -6.5% versus 2016. The all-new
2018 Honda Accord 2.0 turbo model is going to hit the showrooms in January
2018.
The
electrical models of Honda also mark good sales. The Sales of the all-new Honda
Clarity series of electrified vehicles reached a major milestone with December
sales of more than 1,400 units signaling Honda's effort to take electrification
mainstream, led by the launch of the all-new 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid
in all 50 states.

recorded its best sales month in 2017 in December. Acura models, the truck RDX
and MDX, together with the sedan TLX topping 3,000 sales in December.

The
Acura RDX has 51,295 sales for 2017. It’s the only vehicle in the fast-growing
entry luxury SUV segment with over 50,000 units sold for three consecutive
years. This poses high expectations to
the all-new Acura RDX Prototype which will make its world debut at the North
American International Auto Show this month.
