The BMW M Performance Parts Concept
This
year the BMW M Performance Parts Concept, based on the BMW M2, have World
Premiere in Goodwood Speed Festival. The new additional parts are lightweight
than the standard ones and reduce the weight with more than 60 kilograms
(132.27 lbs). The new M Performance Parts Concept are also presented in the
exterior with Frozen Black paint finish and M Performance wrapping in gold. The
interior is also retouched with Alcantara and carbon fibre along with
additional gold accents.

The
BMW M Performance Parts Concept offer an exclusive
concept features in addition to the M Performance parts which are already
available. The new concept parts lower the BMW M2 weight and thus optimize driving
dynamics which also applies on the race track, too. The lower vehicle weight is achieved by using
carbon fibre material which is extremely strong and much lighter than standard
components.
The
new M Performance carbon front radiator grille is expected to be available for
the BMW M2 Competition from July, 2018. It features a gold accent line in the
Concept and perfectly matches the M Performance Carbon bonnet of the BMW M2.

The
M Performacne carbon bonnet is also expected to be available from July, 2018
which saves 8 kg (17.64 lbs) in weight in comparison with the standard
component.

In
November, 2018 will be available the new M Performance carbon fibre front side
panels. They reduce the BMW M2 weight by 3 kg (6.61 lbs) and also optimize the
aerodynamics of the car.

A
high-quality individual look is also to be found in the M Performance carbon
fibre front winglets and the carbon fibre side sill winglets; both are already
available. They have an exclusive gold finish in the Concept.

The
roof is also retouched by the M Performance Parts Concept. It’s made by carbon
fibre in clear carbon-fibre finish. This part is expected to be available in
March, 2019. The new carbon-fibre roof reduces the BMW M2 weight with another 6
kg (13.22 lbs) and it shift the center of gravity closer to the road.

The
wheel set is 19-inch M Performance forged wheel Y-spoke 763M in Frozen Gold
color with semi-slicks not only provides a visual highlight, it’s also reduce
the total weight with 6 kg (6.61 lbs). Moreover, the new wheels have the
relevant positive effect in terms of driving dynamics and steering response. The
new wheels of the BMW M2 are expected to be available from July, 2018.

The
M Performance carbon fibre tailgate is also a part of the additional options
for the BMW M2 and it will be available form November, 2018. It weighs 5 kg
(11.02 lbs) less than the standard trunk. The M Performance carbon fibre rear
diffuser (available) reduces the BMW M2’s weight by 0.5 kg (1.10 lbs). In the
Concept parts list it’s in gold finish.

The
interior is also made by new materials as carbon fiber details, Alcantara and
golden contrast. The new options start with a new M Performance carbon fibre
sport seats with golden contrast seam. It ensures an excellent hold even when
driving in highly dynamic style. The seats are covered with Alcantara and
include a folding function for access to the rear. Both seats weight 9 kg
(19.84 lbs) less than the standard sports seats.

The
rear seats are also covered by Alcantara a defining feature of the M
Performance light rear seats, which reduce the weight of the BMW M2 by another
13 kg (28.66 lbs). In addition to a lasered M logo they bear a golden contrast
seam, which also can be found on the door and side trim in Alcantara and leather.
The M Performance trim finishers also combine the two refined materials carbon
fibre and Alcantara.

The
steering-wheel is M Performance Pro which is available and it also has a golden
contrast seam. The upper and lower sections are covered in leather. In the
handing section, the steering-wheel is made by Alcantara which ensures an
excellent hold with an exceptionally pleasant grip feel.
The
combination of carbon fiber and Alcantara is also used in the M Performance
carbon fibre handbrake with Alcantara gaiter (available). It has a golden
contrast seam in the BMW M Performance Parts Concept – as do the velour floor
mats.
The
BMW M Performance Parts Concept features the M Performance suspension, which is
already available as a retrofit set for serial production vehicles. This
coilover suspension enables to lower the BMW M2 with 20 mm (0.79 in); the
damping technology is independently adjustable to 12 different compression
stages and 16 different rebound stages. These properties give the M Performance
suspension a very neutral driving response with much reduces rolling movement.
The springs are painted in black as the calipers of the 18-inch brakes. An
additional weight reduction of 14 kg (30.87 lbs) is achieved by the use of a
lighter BMW battery.
